She was fighting/struggling/battling, but against what? Against whom? The world dissolved into a blurry chaos of pain and fear before she finally awoke, gasping/coughing/shuddering, the lingering taste of terror heavy on her tongue.

It starts as a subtle squeeze on your chest. You try to gasp, but each inhale of breath is met with a resistance. The world around you fades into a hazy void, and your sight dims.
